For more than 65 years, St. Anne School has maintained a proud legacy of excellence in faith-based education to students from preschool through grade 8 from throughout Northeast TN and Southwest VA. We provide a compelling combination of small classes, caring faculty, academic rigor, and strong faith values.
We are a REAL school for REAL families.
Our mission is to develop and nurture the spiritual, physical, intellectual, social, artistic, and emotional growth of each student in the spirit of the Gospels. Our aspiration is to empower each student to reach his or her full potential.
We hope that our website will begin a dialogue with you, and we urge you to contact us if you’d like to receive more information about any aspect of our school.
St. Anne School is a place where values are affirmed, young minds are enriched, and dreams take flight. We look forward to welcoming you into our family.
What sets SAS apart from other schools?
Faith is at the core of our school. Our students pray every day and religion is an important part of our curriculum. We are blessed to be connected to St. Anne Church, who provides us with financial and spiritual foundations.
We are a school for ALL faiths. Students leave St. Anne School with a morals-based education that serves them well in decision making, emotional intelligence, and matter of conscience.
Every one of our teachers is certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia. In addition, the Diocese of Richmond requires that all teachers maintain state licensure during their employment. Teachers must attend several professional development classes each year.
Our faculty has many combined years of teaching experience and are truly masters in their areas.
St. Anne completes a rigorous process every 5 years and is proud to receive accreditation from the global accrediting agency SACS/CASI/AdvancEd. Their reputation is unprecendented for setting quality assurance standards.
SAS is the ONLY only private school in Bristol with this accreditation.
St. Anne is different from other private schools in the area in that we are connected to St. Anne Catholic Church and an entire system of schools: The Diocese of Richmond. We receive professional, financial, and religious support from these organizations. The Diocese serves 29 schools and over 9,037 students and even has its own superintendent.
SAS is part of a group larger than just our school, which provides many benefits to our students.
What ELSE makes SAS special?
Each year, our students' test scores across all grades place us in the top 15% of the nation.
As a private school, we are fortunate that our test scores do not determine our funding. Therefore, our teachers do not have to "teach to the test." We do see value in standardized testing; information is used to help our school and diocese better understand and accomodate students to keep them progressing in their intellectual stages of learning.
High school teachers consistently tell us they can spot an SAS student by their intelligence and work ethic.
In the most recent five years, our alumni have been high school valedictorians and salutatorians, Tennessee High Graduates of Distinction, and TN/VA Scholars. They have been selected as the "Best All Around Student," earned the "Award of Excellence," "MVP" and "Sportsmanship" awards and were voted "Most Likely to Succeed" and many other awards by their high school peers.
St. Anne students have been awarded scholarships to West Point, UTK, Virginia Tech, The Citadel, BYU, Vanderbilt, Clemson, South Carolina, the Air Force Academy, and more.
In just the past five years, our alumni have earned well over two million dollars in college scholarship money.
Our alumni leave St. Anne School curious, confident, and prepared. The St. Anne students are the ones in high school raising their hands to ask questions, researching on their own, and leading the group project. Just as important, they are the ones holding open doors for others, respecting themselves, and guiding others to make the right decisions.
At SAS, we believe that instilling confidence and goodness in our students is as important as academic endeavors.
