Annual Author Visits:
The Judith Rosenfeld Author’s Day Program has been a part of St. Anne Catholic School for 30 years!  Every school year, students are visited by a nationally known, award-winning, author and/or illustrator. The program inspires our students and encourages them in their reading and writing.

The Annual author visit is funded through a generous endowment established by deceased St. Anne's parishioner, Francis MacFarlane.  The Author’s Day Program is named in memory of the school’s beloved former librarian, Judith Rosenfeld, who instituted this program in 1993.

Our students loved getting to know our authors this past year!

May 9, 2022: Bruce Hale (preschool-2nd grade)

May 10, 2022: Bruce Coville (3rd-middle)

The COVID-19 pandemic did not stopped our 28 year tradition of annual author visits. Karina Yan Glaser, award-winning, New York Times bestselling author, visited with our St. Anne families virtually in May 2020.  In May 2021, our students enjoyed meeting award-winning author and underwater photographer Michael Patrick O'Neill virtually.

On May 7th 2019, St. Anne's hosted its 26th author visit.  Jerry Pallotta, author of the popular non-fiction Who Would Win? series, delighted all the grade levels with presentations, stories, and lots of laughs.  Twelve students who met the Virginia Readers' Choice reading goal ate lunch with Jerry and they got a sneak peek at his next book!

"I love writing books and I love visiting schools all over the United States. I think I have the best job in the world!"

 Jerry Pallotta

Eric Litwin is a guitar strumming, # 1 New York Times Best Selling author who brings early literacy and music together. He is the original author of the Pete the Cat series as well as the author of The Nuts and Groovy Joe.  St. Anne School earned this special visit from Mr. Eric by winning the "Fantastic Scholastic Book Parade Contest."

Thank you Scholastic and Mr. Eric for a memorable day!
