3rd Annual:
PICKLEBALL
PARTY!

We want all levels! You can be a novice and don't have to be a big DILL.

  • What if my child is not Catholic?
More than 50% of our students are from faiths other than Catholic. We are truly for ALL faiths. Religion lessons are based on Christian values but in a Catholic tradition. Students leave St. Anne Catholic School with a morals and values based education that serves them well in decision making, emotional intelligence, and matter of conscience. We WANT all faiths! This is the question most asked! Click here to learn more.
  • What should I look for in a private school?
Two very important things to consider are: 1. What are the teacher certification requirements? SAS Accreditation standards dictate that all of our teachers be certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia. In addition, the Diocese of Richmond Office of Catholic Schools requires that all teachers maintain state licensure during their employment. In order to maintain licenses, teachers are required to participate in professional development every year. 2. Is the school accredited and if so, by whom? St. Anne's has gone through a rigorous process to receive accreditation from the global accrediting agency Middle States Association. Middle States Association is a worldwide leader in accreditation and school improvement. For over 130 years, Middle States has been helping school leaders establish and reach their goals, develop strategic plans, promote staff development, and advance student achievement. St. Anne Catholic School is the only private school in Bristol with this accreditation. For more information about our accrediting agency please visit the ACCREDITATION page on our website.
  • Are you taking new students in the middle of the year?
YES! We do have some classes that are full. We are *small by design*, but please reach out, because we would love to chat with you about how we can help your child transition to SAS. P.S. It is easy, because we love to welcome new students with open arms!
  • What special areas do you have at SAS?
At SAS, we believe in teaching the whole child. All of our students, from preschool-8th grade, have classes in: PE Music/Drama STEM Library Art Spanish Check our a few highlights from our Music Program and Robotics.
  • Do you offer After-school care?
Yes! St. Anne offers after-school care for ages preschool through 8th grade until 5:30 p.m. Students are provided a snack, allowed free play, and then work on homework or participate in other activities until parents arrive. Fees are calculated based on the time students leave. P.S. Our Afterschool teachers are the best of the best!
  • Do you have a bus service?
Yes! Bus service is available for families living in Kingsport. The bus departs from St. Dominic School at 7:20. In the afternoon, the bus will arrive back at St. Dominic at 3:45. Parents may pay for the entire year in advance, it can be added to your FACTS payment, or fees can be paid by the trip.
  • Are uniforms required?
Yes, uniforms are required for all students. Research proves there are multiple benefits to school uniforms. Uniform and dress code requirements can be found on the UNIFORM page of our website as well as in the Parent/Student Handbook.
  • Is financial assistance offered?
Yes, finanical assistance is available. Many of our students qualify for finanical assistance, and it is always kept under strict confidence. Tuition assistance applications are evaluated in the Spring of each year. Students applying for financial assistance must be registered for the school year to which they are applying. Assistance is awarded in April/May of each year. Applications must be completed online at www.factstuitionaid.com. For more information, please contact the school.
  • How is student progress communicated?
We have a very “open-door” policy at St. Anne, so communication takes place as needed throughout the year. Progress reports (report cards) are sent home every 9 weeks. More frequent reports are available through our RenWeb page as grades are posted over the 9 week period. This helps parents keep closer track of tests, quizzes, and homework grades. RenWeb is essentially a parent portal that constantly communicates news, grades, schedule changes, and other information through a secure and private website that can only be viewed by parents, students, faculty, and staff. Students are also given national normed standardized tests three times per year to help our school better understand each student and set specific goals.
  • Will my child still be eligible to play high school sports after attending SAS?
Absolutely! St. Anne students are valuable additions to public school sports programs and are eligible to play any sport for which they are qualified. We have numerous alumni playing local high school sports every year.
  • Do you have an inclement weather policy?
Yes, while living in the mountains, inclement weather is a fact of life. Weather related changes are communicated in multiple ways. We post changes on Renweb and text through the Remind App. We submit weather related changes to numerous news outlets: television, radio, and news websites.
  • What extracurricular activities do you offer?
At St. Anne, we believe in the whole child and helping each child find their passions. We offer a variety of activities, including choir, tone chime choir, basketball, cheer, Robotics, art club, cross country, and more!
