The research is clear that reading over the summer is one of the most impactful things kids can do.  At SAS, we have several ways to help achieve the goal of reading over the summer.

 

• Grade Level Summer Reading: Please see links below. If  you have any questions at all, please contact your child's teacher.

 

•  Book Clubs: Please email [email protected] if you plan to attend.

  • Grades 3-5: Tues, July 12 / 9:30-10:30 / Life Boat 12

  • Grades 6-8: Tues, July 12 / 10:45-11:45 / Long Walk to Water

 

• Mrs. Bush's Read-Aloud Challenge: Read-aloud or listen to an audio book for at least 10 minutes / 30 times over the summer.  It can be any book! A bookmark to record your reading is attached to a link below. There will be a celebration once school starts for all families who complete the read-aloud challenge. If you are accepting the challenge, please email YES to [email protected].

P.S. These can overlap! So, you can listen to/ read aloud  one of the book club books and count it toward the reading challenge!
